Larter has been featured in a number of films during her time as a cast member of Heroes. First, she appeared in the Bollywood film Marigold in which she received a salary in the seven figures. The film received mostly bad reviews. She also appeared in Resident Evil: Extinction, the third installment of well-known franchises based on Capcom videogames. She played Claire Redfield based off the persona from the videogame with similar title. The film had a huge box office hit, more than doubling its budget for production, but it also was a disaster for critics. Larter was also in the movie, a caveman-themed comedy Homo Erectus which was released on DVD direct to disc. Hayes MacArthur was the co-star of the film, as she was engaged to his. Larter played opposite Beyonce and Idris Elba, in the thriller Obsessed . The film debuted as the top film in its box office however got a mixed reception as some critics were comparing the film as Fatal Attraction . It was also this year that Larter and MacArthur tied the knot in a tiny ceremony in Maine The guest at the wedding was his close friend Amy Smart. They have two kids.
